Description

The Kowee Aquarium is a conceptual marine reserve based in Juneau, Alaska. They specialize in the conservation of native fish breeds, invertebrates, reptiles, and marine mammals found in the bordering waters.

The Aquarium gets its name from Chief Kowee of the indigenous Auk Tlingits, the man who helped the city of Juneau co-founders Joe Juneau and Robert Harris on their quest to find gold. The art style of the native Tlingit people inspired the design of the Kowee Aquarium logo. Each color represents a part of Alaska; gold for the state mineral, salmon for the state fish, and jade for the state gemstone.
